To Kill a Mockingbird Receives Olivier Award Nominations!
The Olivier Award's announced this years nominees and To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the front runners!
The biggest night in British theatre is approaching, and we've got our nominees! To Kill a Mockingbird finds itself with nominations in most categories and stands alongside Oklahoma! and My Neighbour Totoro in receiving the most nods.
After storming Broadway in 2018, Aaron Sorkin's acclaimed adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird flew across the pond and opened on London's West End early last year. Since then, it's had a triumphant run and has now bagged a whopping six Olivier Award nominations. Rafe Spall, who starred as Atticus Finch, received rave reviews from critics and is now in the running to receive the Olivier Award for Best Actor! Bartlett Sher who directs the production at London's Gielgud has also received recognition and received the nomination for Best Director. Pamela Nomvete and David Moorst both receive nods for Best Actor/Actress In A Supporting Role and Miriam Buether receives the nomination for Best Set Design. But the award that all plays want to get their hands on is Best New Play, and To Kill a Mockingbird is one step closer after receiving the nomination for it.
We wish To Kill a Mockingbird the best of luck at the awards in April!
